2. Fluid Resuscitation: An Individualised ApproachTopic/subtopic: 1. This lecture will explore the role of lung ultrasound in differentiating pneumonia from pulmonary edema in critically ill patients. Emphasis will be placed on sonographic patterns, bedside imaging techniques, and integrating ultrasound findings with clinical assessment to guide timely and accurate decision-making.
2. This presentation will focus on the use of point-of-care ultrasound to guide individualized fluid therapy in critically ill patients. Topics will include assessment of intravascular volume, dynamic monitoring of cardiac function, and evaluating fluid responsiveness to optimize tissue perfusion while preventing fluid overload. Marija Milenković, MD, PhD, is a clinician-scientist with extensive expertise in anesthesiology, critical care, trauma management, and clinical transfusiology. Her research is primarily focused on resuscitation science, transfusion strategies, and improving outcomes in critically ill and trauma patients. She has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications and actively participates in international research collaborations and medical education initiatives.
